Fall is approaching! Cool nights, high school football games and Halloween! It's the season I most look forward to, and it's one of the best times to visit Worthington Libraries.

If, like me, you love all things autumn-related, you'll want to join us for our first-ever Fall Festival. Scheduled for 11am-2pm on October 19 at Northwest Library, this event is brimming with apple cider (you can press your own) goodness! Come in costume or your coziest flannel and walk a pumpkin path, play games and enjoy a storytime with the Ohio Wildlife Rehabilitators Association.

Earlier in the season, on September 9, we're partnering with the Bexley Public Library, Upper Arlington Public Library and Gramercy Books to present That Librarian author Amanda Jones. In her book, a memoir, Jones details the current movement to ban books in school and public libraries and how these bans can have unforeseen and devastating consequences for both children and adults. She'll speak at 7pm at the Bexley Public Library (2411 E. Main Street, Bexley).

In celebration of Worthington's unique history, you can learn more about the fascinating neighborhood that is Rush Creek Village on Monday, September 30 at 7pm in the Old Worthington Library meeting room.

If you haven't had a chance to see our new Pop-Up Library up close and personal, get ready, as we'll be rolling out to back-to-school events and community celebrations throughout the season. Look for us at Sunday Fundays and Market Day in Old Worthington. Special thanks once again to our amazing Friends Foundation for their full sponsorship of the outreach vehicle. It's made a tremendous and visible impact on our ability to deliver library service and actively engage with our community.

To support our Friends Foundation, please consider attending the annual Books & Brews event set for Friday, November 8, 7-10pm at Old Worthington Library. This event-- always a blast-- features great food, many delicious local beers to sample, music and great conversation. All proceeds go to the Friends Foundation which, in turn, provides programming support to Worthington Libraries.

Happy fall, Worthington!
