Don't Cut Ohio Libraries!

The Ohio House of Representatives is currently working on the state biennium budget. The House Finance Committee accepted an amendment that eliminates the Public Library Fund and replaces it with a line-item appropriation, representing a $100 million cut to library funding compared to Governor DeWine's budget.

Your help is needed to save Ohio's libraries! Contact your state representative and Speaker Matt Huffman TODAY. Tell them to restore the Public Library Fund to the amount designated in the Governor's proposed budget and share how important the library is to you and your family and how a cut to libraries would impact you and your neighbors.

Tell the Ohio House:

  1. Don't cut Ohio's public libraries!
  2. Don't cut my library!
  3. Restore the Public Library Fund (PLF) to 1.75% of the GRF.
  4. Include a personal story. Tell them what you love about your library and how the library makes a difference in your life and impacts the lives of others. Personal stories resonate with legislators. This could include early childhood literacy, senior services, tax assistance, summer reading and so much more. The key is to share your stories and testimonials.

As a reminder, libraries provide a significant return on investment and contribute significantly to the quality of life for all residents. Worthington Libraries provides:
